Step-by-step guide
OK, let’s get started.
Step 1: Get a jigsaw puzzle
Purchase a jigsaw puzzle from a nearby store like Barnes & Noble, or purchase one online. If you’re a beginner, you may want to select a puzzle with high-contrasting colors and varying patterns. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, consider a landscape puzzle, or one with repeating colors and patterns.
Step 2: Find a good space
Once you have your jigsaw puzzle, identify a space to begin working. Make sure to select an area that will fit the entire puzzle.
Step 3: Pour out the puzzles pieces face up
Empty out all of the puzzle pieces and flip each one over with the design facing up.
Step 4: Assort the pieces into groups
Organize the pieces by grouping them together according to colors and patterns.
Step 5: Start with the edges and corners
Begin putting together the edges and corners of the puzzle and working your way in.
Step 6: Work in clusters
Work on the puzzle in clusters instead of all at once. Take breaks as needed.
Step 7: Be proud for finishing
When you finish, bask in your accomplishment — 1,000 pieces is a lot! You can glue and frame the puzzle or dissemble it for another person to try.
